Description
Tetanus Toxoid is indicated for vaccination of healthy horses, sheep and swine as an aid in the prevention of tetanus. This vaccine works by exposing your horse to a small dose of the bacteria which causes your horse?s body to develop immunity to the disease. This vaccine will not treat an active infection that has already developed in the body. Inject one 1 mL dose intramuscularly using aseptic technique. Administer a second 1 mL dose 4 to 8 weeks after the first dose. Revaccinate annually using one 1 mL dose. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. In case of anaphylactoid reaction, administer epinephrine. Side effects of Tetanus Toxoid are fever, general ill feeling, redness, pain, or swelling where the shot was given. Take special care to ensure the injection does not enter a blood vessel. Shake vial well before withdrawing dose. Discard if vaccine cannot be re-suspended. If overdose occurs please contact your veterinarian immediately. Store in the dark at 2? to 7?C (35? to 45?F), AVOID FREEZING.
