Description
Purple Top White Globe Turnip
A popular cool-weather vegetable grown for its crisp roots and delicious greens. The root can be served sliced on a relish tray with dips. It is also enjoyed sliced and boiled or mashed. Prepare greens by steaming.
When where to plant
Select sunny location, cultivate soil, and plant in early spring as soon as soil can be worked. Continue planting at two week intervals until early summer. Start successive plantings again in late summer. Firm soil over seed and keep moist.
Care
Keep soil moist, weed free, and apply vegetable food every 4 weeks.
Harvesting
Pick outer greens when the plants are young. Begin pulling roots when they reach 2″ in diameter.
