Vikings were ancient history ocean pirates and land raiders during the 16th century, also called the middle ages and/or medieval times. They wore helmets to protect their heads during battle. Although there is little supporting evidence that the battle helmets they wore were actually horned, the horned helmet has become a common symbol of Vikings.
