A touch of Italy for your garden! Keep a pot indoors in a sunny window to enjoy fresh basil all winter. Use in tomato-based dishes and pasta recipes. Makes superb pesto. Packet is 0.5g.
Planting
Plant in a warm, sunny location with rich, moist soil in late spring. Basil loves heat and does not begin vigorous growth until night and day temperatures have warmed. Start indoors four weeks before last spring frost date.
Harvest
Cut individual stems as needed. Pinch back flower stalk to improve production. May be dried or frozen for later use.
