M-D Building Products 71480 1/2″ Backer Rod, Gray, is used for filling space in cracks and crevices until you can apply caulk to fix it. It is deal for use in fractured driveways or sidewalks in order to insulate and protect the breaks until further repairs can be done. With 20′ of 1/2″ caulk backer rod at your disposal, you can fill in many large spaces. Depending on the size of the gap, you can even twist together multiple cords in order to make them larger. It can be cut to the proper size with scissors, increasing its versatility.
