Description
Spring Broccoli Raab
A traditional Italian specialty. Very easy to grow, frost hardy and quick to mature. Plant with other cool-season crops and harvest in a little more than a month. The small heads are like the side shoots on broccoli, but their flavor is more distinct. Choose a rich, moist soil with plenty of organic matter. Time your plantings to mature while the weather is cool, usually in early spring, late summer or winter in mild climates. Thin to six inches. Cut tender leaves, stems and heads as soon as the buds form. Second and third cuttings are possible in cool weather.
