Mesclun Salad Mix
Mesclun Mix is an excellent choice for a wonderful fresh salad. A mixture of mild leaf greens that you may use as a dress up lettuce or alone. Sow in short rows for a continuous supply of tender young mixed leaves.
When and where to plant
Select a location in full sun or light afternoon shade. Cultivate and fertilize soil with vegetable food. Lettuce is a cool weather crop, so plant in spring after chance of heavy frost has passed. Repeat at two week intervals as long as weather is cool – spring and fall. For earliest crop, start seeds indoors.
Care
Thin young seedlings, transplanting strongest to other locations. Water lightly and regularly. Protect from pests.
Harvesting
Pick a few outer leaves, on at a time. Harvest entire head when center feels firm.
