Many legends surround the Saint Nicholas, who graces this glass ball. He lived in the 4th Century as a bishop in Myra / Asia Minor and was a godly and helpful man, who became the patron saint of children, sailors, merchants and bakers.

This ornament exemplifies Marolin’s niche of producing mouth-blown ornaments using old molds, then painting and finishing the items in such a way to create a vintage or ‘antique’ appearance. You will notice brush marks, minor color inconsistencies, rubs and an occasional small scratch, or even what appears to be missing paint.
